Born a California seaside, sand & city girl, I live in boot country now,
far north in Anchorage, Alaska, near the top of the world.
But this is not a story about the many cities that I’ve worn,
it’s about the other Boot Country, which is the name of a store.
Yes, you can buy boots from them, but also socks, clogs and more,
and they also repair shoes, even if you bought them at some other store,
which is the way they wound up endearing themselves to me,
on the day they took care of my ‘high fashion’ emergency.
One of my Louboutin pumps had lost the tip of its heel,
after wrangling with an escalator that was quite an ordeal.
But they were the perfect black shoes to go with my little black dress
so having them fixed pronto was the crux of my high fashion crisis.
When I entered their store and told them about my swift need,
they didn’t raise their eyebrows or smirk or laugh out loud at me,
instead they acted as if the mar on the heel of my shoe
was the most important activity on that day that they could do.
So even if you live in the Lower 48 or somewhere else,
take my advice and travel to Anchorage so you can see for yourself,
that when it is serious boot country shoes that you need,
make sure they come from Boot Country, the only boot store for me!
