You want me to be the iconic beauty in a fairytale,
the spark in your day, with no strings in the way.
You desire my charm to enhance your social designs,
but you don’t care to know the real story hidden behind my smile.
You look into my face, you see my beauty and grace,
but it’s barely masked in my eyes, you should see through to the pain.
You say we’ll talk like I’ve asked, when you are finished ravishing me,
but when that time comes, you just close your eyes and fall asleep.
You only want to hear the stories that are lighthearted and loose,
so you will never learn about my tales of abuse, or my personal truths.
You dismiss my emotion, you say it’s time for a break,
you don’t want to see my tears, so you just turn away.
