Scenic vantage point
If Ever

If ever there should come a time
when I don’t know your name,
would you hold my hands in yours,
whisper it to me once again?

If ever there should come a time
when you must leave my side for good,
would you make sure your last kiss
lasts as long as the most ancient wood?

If ever there should come a time
when my flame of life should extinguish before yours,
would you remember me in each sky,
still say I love you every morn?

If ever there should come a time
when the sky is where we live,
infinity will be our home,
always and forever our shared gift.
